Stuck trying to figure out what you are truly passionate about? Your friends have hobbies and interests they are passionate about but you just can’t seem to find your passion for yourself? Well, we’ve got you covered.
How to Find Your Passion with a Bit of Self-Discovery
Everyone has things they are truly passionate about, they just have to do a bit of self-discovery to pull them out. Highlighted below are 13 high-impact questions to help you find your passion. Enjoy the journey, stay prosperous.

1) If you only had one thing you could choose to do, what would that be?
Remove every activity but just this one, would you be happy? Content? Elated? Find that one thing you just can’t live without.
2) What are you always talking about doing, but never actually doing it?
Everyone has at least one of these scenarios. Where you talk to your friends, family, even strangers about something you always wanted to to do, but you’ve still never done it. This is something you are obviously passionate about but you haven’t been able to carve time out for it. Make the time to do it!!
3) If you had to transform one area of your life right now, what would it be?
Self-reflection will never lie to you. You truly know where you need to make changes in your life for the better. Maybe it’s moving to a big city? Maybe it’s opening up your own business and working toward your life passion?
4) If today was your last day to live and you could do one thing for yourself, what would it be?
This is a powerful question because it is removing the typical answers people will say…spend time with family, forgive, see friends, etc. I want you to think about an experience you would do for yourself, what does that day look like?
5) What’s holding you back from pursuing your dreams?
Identifying this is crucial because, once discovered, it will allow you to understand the opposite, “what do I need to be doing to pursue my dreams?” You need to simply get rid of or transform that very thing that is holding you back. This could be a belief, a person, a lack of something, etc.
6) Who inspires you the most in your life? Why?
Everyone has someone in their life they are inspired by. I encourage you to think about someone you are close to and perhaps you can start spending more time with them? If you aren’t inspired by anyone close to you, think about people that are well known and try to understand why they’re an inspiration to you. Perhaps it is something they are passionate about that is bringing out a passion within you.

7) If you had to choose one thing to make a career out of, what would it be?
Unfortunately, a lot of people don’t associate passion and career choice. The most liberating thing you can possibly do in life is have a career based on something you are passionate about. What could you do day-after-day and still be happy because it is an activity you enjoy so much? 99% of the time this activity involves helping someone in some way. Companies need customers…customer need help. Get where I’m going with this?
8) Where do you truly want to live?
I’m not talking just “a city” or “in the county”. Think even deeper than that. Perhaps you want to live in a big city because you enjoy all of the shopping districts. You enjoy meeting new people. You enjoy the great food, etc. These descriptors will help you find what you are truly passionate about.
9) What are the things in your life that you need to get rid of?
The truth is, a lot of people carry around “things” they no longer need. The unfortunate part of this is, these things take up space, energy, and attention from the things that you are truly passionate about. Get rid of the things you no longer need in your life so you can make room for the things you are passionate about.
10) What would you do for free?
What’s that one thing you enjoy doing so much that you could do it over-and-over again without being compensated for it. This has to be a deep passion that makes you feel so good that money is the last thing you’re thinking about.
11) What do you get immersed in that makes you lose all sense of time?
Maybe it’s a hobby, maybe it’s an activity you do with someone else? But while you’re doing it, you get so lost in the moment that you completely lose track of time. For me, being a musician, when I’m playing my guitar I could go on for hours without even realizing any time went by at all.
12) What did you love to do as a child?
Think back to a time when you were young and had no limits on your beliefs. No limits on the dream world you thought you lived in. What did you care about the most? Was it being outside, playing in the water, dancing, art, etc. You could remember a suppressed passion that you absolutely need to revisit.
13) What is something you believe in that no one else agrees with you on?
This should be something that you are so convicted in, that other people not agreeing with you does not bother you nor make you change your opinion at all. This is something that you are so passionate about that you would be willing to be the person that is an outlier. The person that no one is going to get behind.
In Conclusion
Understanding what you are passionate about is such an important aspect to being alive and living your best life. Take the time to think through each of these questions to give yourself more clarity on the passions that should be an instrumental part of your life now. Your passions are just waiting to be uncovered, explored, and rewarded, now it’s a matter of you finding them within you. Until next time, stay prosperous.
